Description
This is an actual place near the Bay of Mykonos. This image captured me, while I was strolling through the narrow streets of Mykonos early on a Sunday morning. The small wooden bird hanging beneath the shade was also there along with the blue shutters of the Island and the Bougainvillea vines hanging near the veranda. It always seems like morning in Mykonos, except for the fun at night in the little cafes and the Greek people with their smiles. These patio walks are actually their streets between the buildings. Small delivery trucks the size of a motorcycle move about easily and people help turn them around when two meet in the middle.
I am Mary Grden, a self-taught, Fine Art Oil Painter (Realist) and Print maker who has painted for 45 years. If you somehow lose me while here, you can search my name under "artist." Just remember, our last name would be "garden," but our garden had no apples, for an "a." You can purchase all you see here on Mary's Baywood Art Gallery, where you are reading this, or on MarysbaywoodArtGallery.com which mirrors the purchasing platform in a website setting with working links.
The wall art prints and products, depicting my Original Oil Paintings, here on Mary's Baywood Art Gallery, are rendered for print by me alone. My Fine Art Prints are available on seven wall-art styles, selected home decor items, and limited lifestyle gifts. Contact me if you need a coupon to help make your purchase possible or if I can help with sizing, colors, personalization or perhaps helping to place in your room(s), digitally.
I am a self-taught fine Art Oil Painter, and Print Maker in all facets of my fine art, from designing my own hardwood-handmade canvases, specialty prints printing, from rendering large raw photos, large negatives, and archived discs.
I was drawn to Georgia O'Keeffe's clean concept and modernistic approach to perspective, a great inspiration to me. "Oil painting is to me, much like writing is to an author. Once the painting develops and the canvas is complete, many more than one, can enjoy." "Originals can be seen by those who visit where they are hung, and prints offer prices and sizes, most can afford."
"The measure of success is the love or the passion you have for what you do and without it, an artist can lose their way. I create shadows for all elements; the sides of a building to oppose the front; steps, cracks, and crevices, telling us if the sun is to rise or set. Perspective allows us to see the realistic view of an open window, door, winding paths, steps, water and so much more. Composition can be difficult to perceive, but to many it comes naturally, as it did for me." I am self-taught in archival printing, as well as my website designs and maintenance.
My two websites are owned and maintained by me making it easier for you to find me, make decisions and/or have more fun exploring my Art. As you may know, Original Oil Paintings are not sold on this website. For that purpose, Marysbaywoodgallery.com displays and sells my Original Oil Paintings in "room" settings. I show you how my handmade hardwood canvases were cut and assembled by me. I ship my Original Oil Paintings, and insure them free within the contiguous, United States. Contact me there, if you are International? Pin or bookmark my two sites to revisit or follow me on either.
A few of my "Original" Photographic prints are available on rich paper that must be framed under glass or plexiglass and hung out of direct sunlight, which follows by the same fine art digital requirements. They will be listed soon, where I sell my Originals, at Marysbaywoodgallery.com in late September 2024. Some are numbered, limited editions and some are open series (non-numbered series). They are large, in excellent condition and maintained in an archival box for approximately 30 years. If you are interested in these before they are listed on Marysbaywoodgallery.com contact me here or there.
My original Urls, BaywoodGallery.com and Baywoodartgallery.com are listed for sale by typing their names into a browser. BaywoodGallery has been in existence since 2000 when my street gallery was opened.
All of my work is COPYRIGHTED as well as my specialty prints I make, and those sold here, because I have given permission to fineartamerica. To receive a Certificate of Authenticity on a print purchased here at fineartamerica, please contact when the 30-day return policy expires and I will send it postage paid. (we do not have access to your address or name on fineartamerica). Certificates can protect you and your investment and of course, my Art and me, against theft. If someone asks, you can say who the artist was and show them the proof.

SO beautiful, Mary! I am switching the image currently in the 'Umbrellas & Awnings' contest to this one. Vertical shows up larger than horizontal...and I love this painting ~ so clean, crisp, colorful & creative! Fvl.
